What we keep, and why.

Who runs Markly

Markly is run by the small team behind dalt.ai, our sister publication. Markly email arrives from hello@markly.app; replies to any Markly email reach a human.

What we store

• Exactly what you type at /start: company name, description, audience, tone, and your email address, plus timestamps, queue status, and the one-click confirmation token from your email.
• A salted hash of the submitting connection's IP address, kept only to enforce the daily submission caps. The raw address is never stored.
• The files we generate for you (brand book, cheat sheet, logo files), stored at an unguessable link that only you receive. Anyone you forward that link to can download the files; that's what makes them shareable with your designer.

What it's used for

Generating your brand book, and sending you a handful of emails about it: the confirmation that starts the build (re-sent only when you ask), the delivery, and an apology if something breaks on our side. If you buy the production files, you also get the unlock email and Stripe's card receipt. There is no mailing list, and submitting a brief never subscribes you to one.

Your brief is processed by an AI model over a commercial API to produce your book. API inputs of this kind are not used to train the models. We don't sell your data, publish your brief, or use it for anything except your own deliverables.

Where it lives

The database and file storage run on Supabase, email is delivered by Resend, and the site is hosted on Vercel. If you buy the production files, payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's pages; your card number never touches our systems, and we store only the payment reference. Each provider acts as a processor for the data above; none of them get to use it for their own purposes.

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. An unsubmitted draft of your brief is saved in your own browser's local storage only, so a closed tab doesn't eat your typing; it never leaves your machine and is removed when you submit.

Deletion

We keep your brief and files so we can re-send them if you lose the email. One message to hello@markly.app deletes the brief, the generated files, and your address. No questions, no retention period, no "up to 30 business days."
