Markly.
AI brand designer · markly.app

Type your company.
Get your identity.

Markly reads a plain description of your company and does what a studio does: argues about the mark, checks the contrast, tests the favicon at 16 pixels, and writes you the book. About two hours, not six weeks.

No account, no card to start. The book arrives by email, free and yours to keep. The production files unlock for $99 while the founding fifty lasts.

Deliverables

The files a studio would hand you.

Not a PNG and a color strip. Five logo concepts in seven production SVG variants each, design tokens as paste-ready CSS, misuse guides generated from your real mark, a CSS-only motion identity, a paginated brand book, and a one-page cheat sheet.

Five marks, argued over

Each ships as horizontal, vertical, symbol, wordmark, two one-color versions (positive and reversed), and a favicon drawn for 16px.

01 Markly — Counter Markly counter logo concept. Horizontal lockup. Markly counter
02 Markly — Vernier Markly vernier logo concept. Horizontal lockup. Markly vernier
03 Markly — Caret Markly caret logo concept. Horizontal lockup. Markly caret
04 Markly — Five Three One Markly five three one logo concept. Horizontal lockup. Markly five three one
05 Markly — Strike Markly strike logo concept. Horizontal lockup. Markly strike

Tokens your developer can paste

This site is styled by these exact values; light and dark mode are generated together, and the dark palette re-passes contrast.

The critic

Generic gets rejected.

An adversarial design critic scores every primary mark against a six-part rubric, up to three rounds, before it ships. These are the critic's real verdicts on our own mark, the one at the top of this page.

Revise
“The concept's rationale is negative space, but the artifact is the opposite: a letter painted in the background color. On any other ground the ‘absence’ reveals itself as paint. As shipped, this is the default-avatar template.”Cycle 1 · distinctiveness 2/5
Revise
“The knockout is real now, but the letterform is corrupted: the font's overlapping contours flip parity under the new construction. Visible at every size above 48px. I will not sign a corrupted letterform.”Cycle 2 · verified with a 306-pixel diff
Pass
“A genuine one-color die-cut that sits on any ground, with deterministic baked outlines instead of font-fallback roulette. It earns its slot.”Cycle 3 · shipped
The gates

Verified, never promised.

17.3:1
Text contrast · WCAG

Every palette runs through contrast checks before the book renders. 4.5:1 is the WCAG AA floor for body text; this brand ships at 17.3:1.

16px
Favicon legibility, measured

Each favicon is rasterized at 16 pixels and its ink coverage measured. Marks that blur into mush get redrawn. This one reads 0.47 ink where 0.10 is the floor.

300+
Checks before render

SVG lint, artifact schema validation, banned-font and banned-cliché rules, and a full test suite run on every brand before the PDF is produced.

How it works

A pipeline of specialists.

01

Brief

You type a few sentences: what you do, who it's for, how you want to sound. Then, if you like: sketch a live palette and lock the colors we must keep, pick the book's register, and name brands you admire.

02

Foundation

Mission, values, and voice rules with do/don't examples, rewritten until none of it reads like a press release.

03

Palette & type

A named seven-role palette gated by WCAG contrast, paired with typefaces chosen for your register. Cliché display faces are banned from your marks outright.

04

Marks

Five concepts, each committed to one idea, each emitted as seven production SVG variants with accessibility metadata baked in.

05

The critic

An adversarial reviewer scores each mark against a rubric and rejects what a design director would reject, with reasons, up to three rounds.

06

The files

Design tokens, misuse guides, a motion identity, a paginated brand book with a table of contents, and a one-page cheat sheet.

Samples

Real books, cover to colophon.

We branded ourselves first, then opened the queue. Every cover below is a real generated book, cover to colophon, not a mockup. Founder books appear here only with permission, and come down the moment a founder unlocks their files.

The price

The book is free. The files are $99 for the founding fifty.

You pay nothing to see the finished work, and you only pay once you’ve already read the book. A studio would quote four figures and three weeks for less than this.

$0 · the book
  • The whole brand book, cover to colophon, nothing held back
  • All five logo concepts shown, each with its design rationale
  • Mission, values, voice rules, palette, type, all critic-passed
  • Yours to read and share, forever

The book carries a personal, non-commercial preview license: read it, share it, pitch with it. Shipping the marks on a product or site is what the unlock’s commercial license covers.

$99 · the unlock · $149 after the founding fifty
  • All 5 concepts × 7 SVG variants, 35 production files
  • tokens.css + tokens.json, paste-ready for your developer
  • The one-page cheat sheet for whoever builds with it next
  • A perpetual, worldwide commercial license
  • Not right for you? Reply within 14 days for a full refund, as long as the files stay undownloaded. A refund ends the license.

One click in your delivery email. No account, no subscription, nothing expires. Apple Pay, Google Pay, or card; files land in the same email thread about a minute later. Founding price stays yours for any future re-run of your brand.

Start free, decide after reading

What if I don’t like any of the five concepts?

Then don’t pay. The book cost you nothing, and there’s no account to cancel. If you already paid and haven’t downloaded the files, reply within 14 days for a full refund. A refund ends the commercial license.

What’s a re-run?

Same company, new brief: a pivot, a rename, a second product. Founding customers keep the $99 price for re-runs of their brand, matched on the email you used.

Who owns the marks?

You do, once unlocked: a perpetual, worldwide commercial license. We claim no rights over your brief or your brand. Prices in USD; local tax is your responsibility.

Can I steer the design?

Yes. /start drafts you a live palette. Lock any color and it ships verbatim, as long as it passes the contrast gates. You can also pick the book’s register (editorial or clinical) and point us at brands you admire. Leave it all open and the studio decides.

Ready when you are

Start your brand. The book is free.

Five questions, one inbox. The fourth drafts you a live palette you can lock. The book usually lands within two hours of your confirm click, your status page shows every stage, and the critic argues before anything ships.
